How to tackle the exam… You have 1 ¾ hours for Paper 1. 1 hour should be spent on the first section. Use 10 minutes to read the texts carefully, underlining points of interest. Identify medium, purpose and audience of each. This will help inform your answers. Read questions carefully. Do not confuse presentational, structural and linguistic devices. This will seriously affect your grade.
