 The Olympics originated in Greece. From 776 BC  The Olympic Games are named after the town of Olympia in Greece.  The first modern Olympic games were held in By Pierre de Coubertin.  The first winter games are held in 1924.

 The Olympic Games were held in order to honor the god Zeus.  Zeus was very powerful he was the boss of all the gods.  People wanted Zeus liked them.

 The colors are: Blue, Black, Red, Yellow & Green.  The colors you can make all the flags of the countries participating in the Olympics.

 1980 in Moscow (81 countries, 5,353 athletes)  1984 in Los Angeles (140 countries, 6,735 athletes)  1988 in Seoul (159 countries, 9,448 athletes)  1992 in Barcelona (171 countries, athletes)  1996 in Atlanta (197 countries, athletes)  2000 in Sydney (199 countries, athletes)

 In 1916, the Olympic Games held in Berlin are but the first world war was canceled.  In 1940 would be held in Tokyo, but by the second Sino- Japanese war was not through.  In 1944, the Olympic Games held in London but that fell through because of the 2nd World War.
