Situation now ● Naxalite zone ● Election is on May 10, 2011 ● All focus is on preventing violence during and after election ● Farming season is approaching, but no sign of monsoon yet

SOS Proposal from Mandra Lions ● Excavate existing wells for safe drinking water – Total 25 wells spread around the locality – 67 village panchayats – More wells will be excavated with govt. fund

Follow up plan ● Install new tube-wells with a long-term sustainable plan – Will cover 78 bigha (~27 acre) of land – Immediate beneficiary more than 300 families – Landowners are ready to donate land for this – Projected to generate ~6000 man-days and Rs. 7.7 lakh each year – Landowners will employ local laborers
