HSI Working Group (HSIWG) Founded in Jan 2006; first meeting Jun 2006 Over 130 participants (representing government, industry, and academia from 8 countries) Communicate via – Reflector –SharePoint site – INCOSE Connect Currently meet 2x / year in conjunction with INCOSE International Symposia and Workshops –Next meeting in Phoenix at International Workshop, February

HSIWG Charter To facilitate embedding Human Systems Integration within Systems Engineering, promoting the benefit of placing the proper focus on the role of people in the development and operation of systems.

5 INCOSE HSI Definition Interdisciplinary technical and management processes for integrating human considerations within and across all system elements; an essential enabler to systems engineering practice.

Review of activities at IW10 While the “Snowpocalypse” raged on the US Mid Atlantic, stranding both Co-Chairs at home, Steve Deal graciously agreed to “shepherd” the meeting. We used LiveMeeting to relatively good effect and were able to conference in some of our European colleagues. First part of the IW was presentations updating us on topics of interest on which we had had previous presentations. We received presentations from: Donna Rhodes, Anne Bruseberg, Larry Shattuck and Nita Miller, and John Colombi. We were fortunate to have a great deal of patience and good humor in the room as we worked to iron out the technical kinks in assuring all desiring participant were able to be a part of the group.

Review of activities at IS10 Half day meeting to help people meet and get down to work. IS focus on the Symposium with less focus on the work for IW. Began activities to develop project plans for each identified project.

Review of identified projects Wiki/Thesaurus – Lead: Teresa Alley HSI – SE Walk-Through -- Lead: Jen Narkevicius SE Transportation UAS Project HSI Core Competencies – Lead: Jen Narkevicius CEDM List of Articles and Authors – Lead: Brian McKenna MBSE and SE/HSI Tools – Lead: Jen Narkevicius HSI BOK Development – Lead: Jen Narkevicius SE Certification Exam HSI Question Development – Lead: Mike Mueller

Way Ahead – what next? Meeting at IW 2011 in Phoenix, February 11 – Detailed agenda will be issued in January. Focus of meeting will be on work activities will few or no presentations. Activities will include finalizing for each identified project: –Project plans –Team membership –Schedules and budgets We welcome participation by all members and affiliates!
