Speed and Acceleration Word Problems Be sure to show your work. You should have a formula triangle for each problem.

#1 If it takes 2 hours to travel 8200 meters, what is the average speed in meters/min?

#2 A car has an average speed of 32 miles per hour. How far can it travel in 7 hour and 15 minutes?

#3 How long does it take to travel 330 miles, if the average speed is 59 miles per hour?

#4 A football field is about 100 m long. If it takes a person 20 seconds to run its length, how fast (what speed) were they running?

#5 The pitcher’s mound in baseball is 85 meters from the plate. It takes 4 seconds for a pitch to reach the plate. How fast is the pitch?

If you drive at 100 km/hr for 6 hours, how far will you go? #6 If you drive at 100 km/hr for 6 hours, how far will you go?
