THE CALL TO WORSHIP Based on 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 Hebrews 12:28 We may be hard pressed on every side, BUT WE WILL NOT BE CRUSHED; We may be perplexed, BUT WE WILL NOT BE DRIVEN TO DESPAIR; We may be persecuted, BUT WE WILL NOT BE ABANDONED;

We may be struck down, BUT WE WILL NOT BE DESTROYED. Since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, LET US BE THANKFUL, and worship God acceptably WITH REVERENCE AND WITH AWE.

THE FIRST of FIVE PURPOSES FOR US IN THIS LIFE IS TO BE LOVED BY GOD. That’s’s WHY God created us so He could love us! 1 John 4:10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that He FIRST LOVED US and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

THE SECOND of FIVE PURPOSES FOR US IN THIS LIFE IS TO LOVE GOD BACK. This what we call WORSHIP Romans 12:1 - Because of God’s great mercy to us, offer yourselves as a living sacrifice to God, dedicated to His service and pleasing to Him. This is the true worship that you should offer.

WHAT CAN YOU GIVE TO GOD WHO ALREADY HAS EVERYTHING? YOU GIVE HIM YOUR LOVE. HOW should offer our love to God? Love the Lord your God with all your HEART all your SOUL, all your MIND, and all your STRENGTH. (Mark 12:30)

WORSHIP IS Expressing Your Affection To God Hosea 6:6, Psalm 106:1, Romans 6:13 THANK YOU TO GOD You can GIVE WITHOUT LOVING, but you cannot LOVE WITHOUT GIVING.

WORSHIP IS Focusing Your Attention on God Psalm 139:1-3, Romans 8:7, Romans 12:2a, Matthew 6:6, Isaiah 26:3 FOCUS ON GOD BECAUSE HE IS FOCUSED ON YOU CHOOSING and DECIDING to focus on God takes practice, discipline, desire.

WORSHIP IS Using Your Abilities for God Colossians 3:17 & 23; SENSE HIM with your HEART AND SOUL; SEE HIM with your MIND; SERVE HIM with your STRENGTH. “For WHOM are you doing it?” If you’re doing it for the Lord anything you do is worship.

WORSHIP IS GIVING BACK TO GOD (Summary) EXPRESSING YOUR AFFECTION TO GOD (Loving God with all your heart and soul) FOCUSING YOUR ATTENTION ON GOD (Loving God with all your mind) USING YOUR ABILITIES FOR GOD (Loving God with all your strength)

The Pastoral Prayer and The Lord’s Prayer OUR FATHER, WHO ART IN HEAVEN, HALLOWED BE THY NAME. THY KINGDOM COME, THY WILL BE DONE, ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN. GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD, AND FORGIVE US OUR DEBTS AS WE FORGIVE OUR DEBTORS; AND LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION BUT DELIVER US FROM EVIL. FOR THINE IS THE KINGDOM, AND THE POWER, AND THE GLORY FOREVER AMEN.
