URANIUM Atomic number: 92 Atomic mass: Melting point: Fahrenheit- 2,075. Celcius-1,135. Boiling point: Fahrenheit- 7,468. Celcius-4,131. Color: Silver State of matter: Solid Uranium is a Metal

Facts about Uranium Discovered in 1789 By a man named Martin Heinrich Klaporth It was named after the planet Uranus Uranium metal isolated by Eugène-Melchior Péligot in 1849 Isolated definition separated from other persons or things; alone; solitary. 55 years later Henri Becquerel discovered Uranium radioactivity. Things Uranium is in: Atomic Bomb, used to make plates and decorating materials for windows before they figured out it was radioactive.

When Uranium becomes U-235 it becomes highly radioactive U-235 can produce 20 terajoules of energy, equivalent to 1500 tons of coal. Plain Uranium is not flammable, but U-235 is very explosive Uranium reacts violently to air once Uranium also reacts to water or H2O when it is finalized Uranium is used in power plants for more and cleaner energy Uranium's radioactive isotopes is used in radioactive treatments.

BIG DISASTER THAT INVOLVED URANIUM “Little Boy” was an atomic bomb that involved Uranium in it. It was dropped over Hiroshima, Japan on August 6, This atomic bomb did a lot of damage killing 66,000 people and also injuring 69,000. “Little Boy” afterwards has even infected many people generations later. The offspring of survivors have received diseases from the radioactivity from the atomic bomb the most common disease they have received from it is Leukemia. The bomb completely level was the diameter of about one and a half mile. Severe blast damage diameter was about two miles. Also anything that was in a three mile radius was riddled with serious blaze.
