 How specifically are students going to learn the course competencies…. Individual Class Assignments Due Dates Grading Scale  Class structure/rules…. Attendance policy – including arriving late to class Late paper policy – clearly defined Plagiarism policy Exam policy - clearly defined /contact policy – including when you may not be available Cell phone policy Laptop policy

 Upload first day handouts to Blackboard  Upload all instructions for individual assignments to Blackboard (SSC)  Don’t expect immediate understanding of your expectations!!!  Remember our student population!!!

Do arrive early – (make class available online) Do dress appropriately Do have materials Do review logistics Do take attendance – Online Info sheet/Intro Do greet students upon arrival (Ice breakers – online welcome) Do expect several late arrivals Do have familiarity with campus  Don’t arrive to class late or at class time  Don’t arrive to class unprepared  Don’t use inappropriate language/jokes  Don’t overwhelm students
