The Business Definition  Dr. Rob’s is a vendor who rents shelf space from area grocers in the Houston area.  The salsa is supplied and inventoried by Dr. Rob employees.

The Business Problems  An inefficient manual process is currently used for inventory ordering and sales. This process is time consuming and inefficient.  Currently a company representative visits each store location and physically counts the inventory, and then records it on paper. The order is called in to the home office to be placed. At the home office once an order is placed it is manually recorded. An invoice is manually generated and sent store location. The grocery store in turn sends a check for payment.  This is a completely manual process and needs to be improved.

The Business Solution Develop an automated system that will allow for electronic ordering, tracking, invoicing, and reporting.

TheRequirements The Requirements The process improvement would require a programmed windows application (Graphical User Interface) that incorporates the following aspects:  An module for inputting customer inventory.  An module for inputting company inventory.  An module for customer placing orders.  An module for generating invoices.  An module for generating internal reports.  A database to maintain and store sales/production/customer information.
