Fox Foxes are small mammals ,a bit smaller than the average dog. They have a long narrow snout, a bushy tail, sharp teeth and clever brains. They have long legs to pounce on their prey. Foxes are carnivores. They eat smaller animals like rats, mice, large insects like grasshoppers, and sometimes fruit. Foxes live in the city and the country, anywhere they can find food.

Cheetah The cheetah has short fur that is tan with round black spots . It has a long tail, long strong legs, and a big nose to breathe in more air for fast running. It has sharp claws and big powerful teeth. The cheetah is a carnivore. It eats smaller animals like deer, baby giraffes , fowls and hares. The cheetah lives in the grasslands of Africa where it can find prey.

Porcupine (echidna) Porcupines are rodents that have sharp spines, or quills, that protect them from predators. They grow new quills to replace old ones. They have short legs and a long tail. Porcupines live in forests, deserts, rocks and grass. Some live in trees, but most stay on the rocks. They eat leaves, herbs, twigs and green plants and in the winter they may eat bark. They often climb trees to find food.

Vampire bat Vampire bats have wings and legs. They small ears and eyes, and a short tail. They have sharp front teeth for cutting the skin of their prey. Their back teeth are small. Vampire bats drink blood. They hunt at night. They live in dark places, such as caves, hollow trees, and buildings. They only live in South America.

Spiny ant-eater Echidnas are small mammals covered with coarse hair and spines. They have long, thin snouts, and short, strong legs with large claws for digging. They have a small mouth , no teeth and a long sticky tongue. To get food they tear open soft logs and anthills, and use their long, sticky tongue to collect their prey. Spiny anteaters eat ants and termites. They live in grass or deserts. They build burrows.
