Vision  EPI (Heath Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa)'s vision is like in the world in which every child and mother attains the right of survival, protection, development and participation.

Mission  EPI (Heath Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's mission is to reach every children, mother and create the demands for vaccination, inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats children, mothers and to achieve immediate and lasting change in their lives.  Achieve Polio Free Pakistan

Slogan  Every child and mother attains the right of survival, protection, development and participation.

– Started in November 1976, as pilot project. – Confined to Nowshera and Peshawar. – Expanded to hospitals DHQ/AHQ). – Initially for controlling 5 diseases and now Immunization against 8 diseases – Now operational in most of the union councils of the province – Converted to the regular budget since 1996.

 General Objectives  Reduction of mortality and morbidity resulting from EPI target diseases by immunizing children under 1-2 year and pregnant women.  Specific objectives.  Stop indigenous poliovirus transmission  Elimination of Neo-Natal Tetanus, by the year  Reduction in Measles mortality by 95 % and Measles morbidity by 90% by  Reduction of Diphtheria, Pertussis, Hepatitis B, and Childhood Tuberculosis,HIB, Meningitis to a minimum level.  Control of other diseases by introducing new vaccines in EPI.

 90% routine immunization coverage of all antigens in all districts/union council  Stop indigenous poliovirus transmission  Achieve measles elimination  Neonatal tetanus elimination

 Enhance the capacity of the district EPI team  Professionally  Technically  Managerially

 Enhance monitoring system  Updates Due List  Updates defaulters lists  Updates out reach activity  Made surveillance system  Improve reporting mechanism at UC and district level

Create ownership in the health care providers Planning for the future Create EPI Policy at provincial level Provide state of art vaccinations Mobilization of resources for routine EPI in all districts. Involvement of Education and Population welfare in planning and implementation of EPI/PEI activities.
