What is Sustainable Prosperity? Here are a couple of definitions…

Sustainable prosperity…  In short, “Sustainable prosperity” would come as a result of sustainable development that enables all human beings to live with their basic needs met, with their dignity acknowledged, and with abundant opportunity to pursue lives of satisfaction and happiness, all without risk of denying others in the present and the future the ability to do the same. This means not just preventing further degradation of earth’s systems, but actively restoring those systems to full health.  World Watch Institute  How can this be achieved?

Aboriginal Values  Original religions of many indigenous peoples believe human beings are directly linked to the environment both physically and spiritually.  The arrival of European settlers upset the harmony between human beings and nature. eg. seek short term benefits by extracting natural resources at rates, and in amounts, greater than can be naturally replaced. Such new demands place new pressures on the fragile ecology and threaten the long-term future of humankind. eg. seek short term benefits by extracting natural resources at rates, and in amounts, greater than can be naturally replaced.
