About Mrs. Chatman Rochester, New York SUNY Geneseo (Undergraduate) SUNY Brockport (Graduate) Walden University (Doctoral Candidate) Certified Life Coach 1 st Taylor Road/19 th year teaching Married and have 3 children (2 boys and 1 girl); 5 grandchildren Love reading, planning events and traveling! About Ms. Echols TRMS has been my home school for 12 years. Grew up in Georgia, but lived in the Northwest (Alaska, British Columbia, Washington) through my twenties. Mom to a Chesapeake Bay Retriever and Tabby cat. Transitioned from Event Manager to Middle School Educator in Earned my Masters in Education shortly after I began teaching. Will never outgrow the celebration of ice cream and cupcakes. Passionate about good manners, respect, and following through with what was promised. Favorite saying, "When you reflect on your life, regret what you did instead of what you didn't do!"

What Your Child Needs for Reading Class… Pleasure reading book daily (homework grade) Pencils, colored pens, highlighters 1 Composition notebook (replace as needed) Various other art supplies for projects Donations: Any of the following items would be much appreciated as they are frequently used: –Dry erase markers/expo spray cleaner –Post-it Notes –Jolly Ranchers, Starburst etc… –Lamps you are not using!

Classroom Expectations Key to Success Come to class prepared with materials DAILY Do Homework Respect every one and every thing in the classroom Always try your best (Strive for Excellence, No Excuses!); Submit your best work Remain engaged in learning at all times (Stay on task, Be a good listener) Complete ALL assignments Write in your agenda EVERYDAY Keep a positive attitude about learning (even when you are challenged)

Other Important Information Projects are not eligible for recovery. Rubrics and teacher feedback are both provided in class during project construction. Students are expected to use the rubric and teacher feedback to make improvements to their projects before submitting the final product. Homework COUNTS - 10%!
