Wednesday: Montag on Trial Handout/Guidelines: The People Vs. Guy Montag* Handout: Overview of Courtroom Procedures Watch an opening statement. Take notes on terms used and other tips. Notebook title: Example of Opening Statement *Note: Prosecutors and Defense will work together to make this more of a production, rather than an on-the-spot trial.

Wednesday: Montag on Trial Today you should get into your 2 groups and: Make a list of evidence you’d like to use and build your case. Make a list of witnesses you’d like to question and questions for each. You should have about three - five witnesses. Talk with the other side to make sure you don’t have duplicate witnesses. Remember, you can make up characters (other firemen, neighbors, schoolmates of Clarisse, old professor buddy’s of Faber, Beatty’s wife, etc.). Write a rough draft of an opening statement (at least 2-3 minutes).
