Outlet Conditions Natural berm build-up periodically occurs at the outlet, minimizing water flow to the ocean and causing water to pool at the outlet. High tide and surf at Poche contribute to the water in the pond. Outlet waters rise and flood the catwalk due to reduced flow. POCHE BEACH OCEAN OUTLET MAINTENANCE PERMIT STATUS

Past Permits and Constraints Past Permits Conditions – Limited to semi-annual maintenance (Spring and Fall) – Required obtaining separate authorizations for non semi- annual maintenance Constraints – Western snowy plover and grunion monitoring requirements – Water quality monitoring requirements POCHE BEACH OCEAN OUTLET MAINTENANCE PERMIT STATUS

Current Permitting Efforts Agencies involved in obtaining long term maintenance permits: – United States Army Corps of Engineers: Application submitted November During application processing, the Corps consults with United States Fish and Wildlife Service and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration – Regional Water Quality Control Board, San Diego Region: Application submitted November POCHE BEACH OCEAN OUTLET MAINTENANCE PERMIT STATUS
