appoint- to choose or name someone for an office or position Governor Jindal was appointed as the governor of Louisiana.

legislative- anything that has to do with making laws The legislative branch of government does not always agree on certain laws.

Congress- the group of people in the U.S. government who are elected to make laws Congress members had similar ideas long ago as they do now.

democracy- a government in which people elect other people to make laws Is it better to live in a democracy or a republic country?

enforce- to make sure people obey the law Law officers enforce laws to keep our community safe.

elect– to choose someone for office by voting Voters elect a candidate they want to be in a position.

conclude- to form an opinion about something What can you conclude about the outcome of the book?

executive- people who see that the laws of the nation are carried out The executives sat at the conference and listened to the people of the community voice their concerns.

judicial- to deal with judges and courts of law The judicial branch of government helps decide if laws are being followed or broken.
