Brief History l Consultation with national SchoolNets in over 30 countries at number of conferences hosted by SchoolNet Africa e.g. Botswana – April 2003, Johannesburg – June 2004, Namibia – March 2004 etc l Research e.g, - Treating Africa and Refurbs with respect, eWast, TCO btn new Pcs and refurbs. l Discussions and debates on various issues of the campaign – online and face to face at forums.

CAMPAIGN PLAN/APPROACH - SCHOOLNET VALUE CHAIN l Value Chain - Creating awareness at all levels i.e schools, institutions, donors (international and national), Govts, NGO, well-wishers, etc - Forming partnerships - Sourcing Pcs - Selecting and equipping schools, institutions, TSC etc e.g. Infrastructure, schools readiness. - Capacity building ie, Training in both technical and pedagogy, Teacher professional development, schools management, helpdesks etc - Continues Research, learning and evaluation on various issues like; policies, appropriate technologies, challenges, educational content and curriculum integration, etc
