Safety goggles and gloves are science tools. Scientists think safety!

Scientists use tools.

This is a microscope.

Micro means small. A microscope helps you see very small objects.

This is what bacteria looks like under a microscope.

This is a hand lens or a magnifying glass.

A hand lens is great for looking at bugs.

Scientists use measuring cups.

They measure liquid in liters.

They measure length with meter sticks and rulers.

They use scales and balances to measure weight and mass.

Scientists measure heat with a thermometer.

Scientists measure everything!
