INTRODUCTION - Matte paintings are used to create virtual movie sets or extend current sets. - They can be either hand-painted or a composite of existing photographs. - A technique used to add a third dimension to a flat photo or picture, allowing camera movement within it. “2.5D” - This makes it necessary to add animated objects inside the photo, to enhance the illusion of life (such as birds, clouds and other elements).

- To create an impressive establishing shot of an environment. PROJECT GOALS - Learning more about the matte painting techniques used in modern films today. - Apply the concept of 2.5D imagery to a landscape. PHASES PHASE 1:Concept art. PHASE 2:Research. PHASE 3:Production.
