Introduction Have you ever heard of a Monarch butterfly? Well if you read on you can find out what they are.

What is a Monarch butterfly? A Monarch butterfly is an insect with colorful wings. It is also a type of bug.

Where do Monarch butterflies live? They live in fields and meadows. Some also live on leaves.

What do Monarch butterflies look like? They are orange and black with white spots. They have scales on their wings.

What are behaviors of Monarch butterflies? They migrate 4,000 miles in the fall. When they drink nectar they use their long tongue.

What do Monarch butterflies eat and how do they hunt? Monarch butterflies eat nectar from flowers. They do not hunt.

What predators do Monarch butterflies have and how do they protect themselves? They taste very bad. Other animals are predators to Monarch butterflies. They protect themselves by flying high.
