Essentials of Absolute Block Working For Single line provided with MACLS Line Clear has been received from the Block Station in advance The line is clear of trains running in the same direction, up to the first stop signal and an adequate distance beyond it The line is clear of trains running in the opposite direction The adequate distance shall not be less than 180 meters in MACLS Essentials of Absolute Block System for Single line provided with mutli-aspect signalling as per General & Subsidiary Rules: Where trains are worked on the Absolute Block System, no train shall be allowed to leave a block station unless Line Clear has been received from the Block Station in advance, and on Single Line such Line Clear shall not be given unless the line is clear of trains running in the same direction, not only up to the first stop signal at the Block Station at which such Line Clear is given, but also for an adequate distance beyond it, and is clear of trains running in the direction towards the block station to which such Line Clear is given. Unless otherwise directed by approved special instructions, the adequate distance shall not be less than 180 meters in case of multiple aspect colour light signalling
Special Requirements - Indications LINE CLOSED At both the stations When the instruments are normal and there is no train in the block section TRAIN COMING FROM At the receiving station When Line Clear for a train to leave the Block station in rear has been given TRAIN GOING TO At the sending station When Line Clear for a train to leave a Block station has been received from the Block station ahead TRAIN ON LINE For Token less Block Instruments Special requirements for Single Line Block Instruments as per Signal Engineering Manual: The instruments shall be provided with visual indication clearly giving the-following indications : · When the instruments are normal and there is no train in the block section, ‘Line Closed’ at both the stations. · When Line Clear for a train to leave the Block station in rear has been given, ‘Train Coming From’ at the receiving station · When Line Clear for a train to leave a Block station has been received from the Block station ahead, ‘Train Going To’ at the sending station. In addition to the fixed indications in Token less Block Instruments, the instrument shall be provided with means to indicate ‘Train On Line’ at both the sending and receiving stations when a train has entered the block section.
Special Requirements – Push Button TRAIN GOING TO & COMING FROM Button for TRAIN GOING TO Co-operation of the Station Masters be dispensed with TRAIN ON LINE be automatic LINE CLOSED Button for LINE CLOSED Can be dispensed with where an automatic device of closing the Block section is provided
