Early Days A young man- 350 B.C.- went to Plato’s Academy Did very well Was not chosen to lead after Plato’s death Moved back to Macedonia to tutor Alexander the Great Went back to Athens and opened Lyceum He was really into science- biology Putting man-made control over the “chaotic natural world” Created classification system- governments (monarchy, oligarchy, etc.)
