John McCain for President An Elliott Daniel Presentation

Childhood John McCain was born on August 29 th, 1936 at a Naval air station located in the Panama Canal. He was born to John S. McCain Jr. and Roberta McCain. Combined, McCain attended around 20 schools. In 1951, he and his family moved to Northern Virginia. There, he went to Episcopal High School. McCain rocked at wrestling and finally graduated in McCain then entered the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis. At the school, he stood for kids being picked on by bullies, became a lightweight boxer, and did well in academic subjects like literature and history. McCain then married Carol Shepp of Philadelphia on July 3 rd, McCain adopted 2 children and named them Douglas and Andrew and then had a daughter that he named Sidney. McCain then accepted a combat assignment in which he was assigned to a bombing campaign over Vietnam during the time of the Vietnam war. On July 29 th, 1967 McCain was near the center of the fire of the squadron leader’s jet. Escaping his own burning jet, McCain attempted to help another pilot escape when a bomb exploded. McCain was hit in the legs and chest by shards of shrapnel. A fire quickly ensued after the explosion killing 134 sailors and taking 24 hours to bring under control. Soon after the start of his third term in the senate, McCain announced his presidential campaign on September 27 th, 1999 in New Hampshire. Unfortunately, the leader of the Republican nomination turned out to be George Bush. McCain then completed his third senate term. In May of 2005, McCain was reelected to the senate and his fourth term began. McCain finally announced his second presidential campaign on April 25 th, Having much more experience than Barack Obama, John McCain worked as a congressman for 4 years and was then a senator for 22 years. He says he will navigate a different course than Obama. McCain quotes “I will create millions of jobs through tax cuts that spur economic growth.” He states that the difference between him and Obama is that the McCain plan will create jobs, get the stock markets to rise again, secure a balanced housing market, growth in the economy and secure millions of new jobs. He promises numerous tax cuts but does not hide that he plans to tax universal health care benefits. He finally says that he will monitor government spending carefully and toughen rules on financial markets. McCain’s plan is to turn the rapidly plunging stock market around. McCain has agreed to talk with China on a temporary halt on manufacturing of nuclear weapons. He has also drawn up a treaty with Russia to eliminate more nuclear weapons. He hopes to cut the amount of nuclear weapons being produced in the world but did not set a specific goal. McCain has said that he has called an exploration with Russia to eliminate possible nuclear weapons in Europe. McCain has criticized previous parties (both Republican and Democrat) about not being able to slow the production of nuclear weapons. McCain hopes to do this unlike the previous parties failed to do. McCain believes that once Iraq can contribute to the defeat of the terrorists and defend its own country, American troops can return home.
