The Process…… Preparing for the community consultations: Following the 7 Population Accountability Questions: 1.Community Health and Wellbeing Outcome (Population Result) 2.How would we experience this? 1.How would we measure it?

The Process…… Choosing the best indicators to represent the Community Health and Wellbeing Outcome (result): Communication Power: does the indicator communicate to a broad audience? Proxy Power: does the indicator say something of central importance about the result? Data Power: could we get quality data on a timely basis?

Example Result: People in Knox have healthy relationships that are free from violence Indicator:

The Process…… 4. How are we doing on the most important of these measures? (story) 5.Who are the partners that have a role to play in doing better? (invited partners) 6. What works to do better? 7. What are we going to do and who will play what role with each strategy?

Key Points……. 1.Be prepared – do the ground work beforehand and be clear as to why you have selected the indicators 2.Participants do not need to know RBA to participate in the process/activity but the facilitator does and at least one person at the table 3.Have a clear template to collect the information that follows the Turn the Curve or 7 Population Question process

Key Points…….. 4. Make sure the person facilitating or taking the lead at the table is willing to let the group explore the story – ask Why 3 times!!! 5. Try to have as broad representation of partners as possible to obtain a robust analysis 6. Ensure you provide feedback to the participants once the workshop is complete with the next steps even if they are not key stakeholders
