MURAL (PAGE 72)  A mural is a wall painting. Many glorious murals have been painted. We can still see some that were painted long ago. One of them is in Rome. It is on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel.  Some artits are concerned about the way their communities look. They want to brighten up their neighborhoods. One way to do that is by painting murals.

MURAL (PAGE 72)  When artists create a mural, the city becomes their studio. A building or park wall is their canvas. The mural may take a lot of time to complete. Artists set up a schedule to make sure the project gets done.  Outdoor murals should be painted on clear, sunny days. They can be ruined if it rains before they are dry.
