INFSO-RI Enabling Grids for E-sciencE Service Provision Architecture TNLC Meeting ― Athens, Mathieu Goutelle (SA2, CNRS UREC)
Enabling Grids for E-sciencE INFSO-RI TNLC meeting Provisioning of IP Premium Provide Premium IP to the EGEE applications, Needs extra development in EGEE: –Interaction between BAR and the NSAP, –Interaction between BAR and the middleware, –Interaction between the middleware and the applications. Needs extra development from NRENs: –Provide the NSAP (receives requests from BAR and answers back), –Provide the mechanisms to configure properly the network. Definitely not straightforward!
Enabling Grids for E-sciencE INFSO-RI TNLC meeting User Service: Platinum-?? Rate:5Mbit/s Duration:5 hours SRC:RC_1 DST:RC_2 MWNetwork - Configuration of equipments, - Provisioning of resource. - SRid, - Border-to-border SLA (aggregation of inter-domains SLAs). - Auth. / Author., - Mapping of EGEE service classes into network services, - Parameters translation (IP subnet…), - Logging, accounting… Construction of the e2e SLA based on the b2b SLA and the DB about RC (connectivity, service…) SRid e2e SLA NREN A GÉANT NREN B RC_2 RC_1 Service: PIP Rate:5Mbit/s Duration:5 hours SRC: /24 DST: /24 SR flow (a kind of pre-reservation)
Enabling Grids for E-sciencE INFSO-RI TNLC meeting Appli SRid (e.g. provided by the user in the JDL) SRC: DST: Data volume or rate/duration MW - Auth. / Author. - Configuration of the egress routers of the end-sites - Logging, accounting… Yes / No NREN A GÉANT NREN B RC_2 RC_1 WN_1 SE_2 SA flow (utilization of the pre-reservation)
Enabling Grids for E-sciencE INFSO-RI TNLC meeting Questions Will PIP be operational (PIP implemented, presence of NSAP) in some NRENs? What will be the PIP provisioning model for EGEE? –Static allocation for a long duration? –Dynamic allocation following requests from EGEE to the NRENs? What will be the network model for EGEE? –NRENs/Geant as a “black box”? –EGEE will have to take care of concurrent EGEE flows on the same backbone link?
