Project Report Vlissingen 2

Acculturation Objectives Help new students to deal with the Netherlands and the Dutch Language. Help students to obtain the best results in their studies assisting them in the Alimentation. Assist them to maintain their nutrition habits in the dutch environment. The final result is people not concerning about not eating what they are used to, and willing to try new cooking styles.

Product The product is a brochure containing specific information about the food related knowledge Alphabetically ordered words translated from dutch to english with pictures Same words listed in different classifications Map with the locations of restaurants in Delft, including classifications – Prize – Ethnicity

Reflections on the Project Process The group decided upon the objectives via brainstorming : – A system to choose the appropriate phone company – A food guide – A traveling and transportation guide – A Language guide

Cooperation between the teams The group was separated in two teams:  Locations  Finding restaurants in specific areas of Delft to create a map Jianqi and Arsene investigated the restaurants in town. Anastasia worked in the design of the map.  Food Dictionary  Creation of a list of words for use in restaurants and supermarkets. Aksel and Oscar worked in the investigation of content. John and Natsuki worked in the design.

Cooperation between the teams (Problems and Solutions) No effective communication between Location and Food Dictionary Teams was established. – Difficulties to integrate the work of both teams. Problem solved thanks to moderators to help establish a good communication. – Anastasia and Natsuki matched the outcomes of the two teams and integrated them in the brochure.

Knowledge acquired from the assignment Acculturation – Getting to know different types of thoughts – Different Educational Backgrounds Working in Projects – Communication as a key factor Working in Multicultural teams – An opportunity to try different methods of analyzing data, setting individidual tasks, discussing, and reaching a final decision.

Conclusion We are satisfied with the results, because enven though we encountered some communication issues, it was possible to overcome them and obtain a good outcome.
