The Flagstaff Unified School District supports: A rigorous, cohesive, and focused set of K-12 standards, which challenges students to persevere in their learning. Collaborative learning environments in which students are actively engaged with relevant learning tasks that promote creative problem solving and reasoning. Preparing our students for the dynamic career opportunities of the next generation. Additionally the FUSD Mathematics Department values: A balanced approach to mathematics education, which divides instructional time equally between building conceptual understanding, attaining procedural fluency and the application of this learning in various contexts. 8/5/2014
