Introduction This presentation will guide you through checking the network problems while you try to access Internet from your computer

Precondition You are using Windows system. Your computer is accessing Internet through network router. You are using Internet Explorer as Web browser. You have network adapter installed on your computer.

Let’s start! Turn on your computer. Open Internet Explorer. Go to your favorite website.

Can you browse the website from your computer?

Try the following steps Make sure you have cable connecting your computer to the network interface. Check the network icon at the bottom.

Does the icon show connected? Yes, with local and Internet access Yes, but only with local network access No, It shows disconnected.

Try the following steps Go to another website. Open another application using Internet like Windows Messenger or Outlook. Reboot the computer. Next

Try the following steps Open network and sharing center and check the network status. Call the network administrator to get Internet access authority. Next

Try the following steps Check the hardware Reboot your computer. Change another network cable. Check the network interface. Check the status of your network adapter. Check with the network administrator if the network router is turned off. Next
