 An attitude is an expression of like or dislike toward a person, place, thing, or event.  Attitude can be formed from a person's past and present.  Attitude may refer to the distinct concept of mood.  A person's perspective toward a specified target and way of saying and doing things.

 Are in many ways aligned with belief and belief systems.  Values reflect a person's sense of right and wrong or what "ought" to be.  "Equal rights for all", "Excellence deserves admiration", and "People should be treated with respect and dignity" are representative of values.  Values tend to influence attitudes and behaviour.

 In pairs, discuss and make notes on what attitudes and values are needed in order to maintain a ‘healthy relationship’ e.g. Rights are respected Having a positive attitude

 Of the attitudes and values discussed in the previous task, complete the table below in your books: Attitudes and Values that Wairangi is showing towards HIMSELF when he communicates assertively Attitudes and Values that Wairangi is showing towards EMILY when he communicates assertively Emily’s rights are respected so that she is not forced to do anything that she is not comfortable with.
