The way trainee teachers are graded has changed. This is to identify and support trainees as early as possible, so that they have the potential to become good or outstanding by the end of the course. Assessment Weekly observation by School mentor / classteacher On-going formative feedback Two visits from SE Tutor (one visit for UG SE1) to include a joint observation Joint agreement of grading by School Mentor and SE Tutor Mid-point (except for UG SE1) and final SE Reports. SE patterns PGCE - Autumn (2 weeks unassessed, 6 weeks assessed) - Spring (6 weeks) - Summer (9 weeks) UG serial days (Autumn) - Spring ( 4 weeks) UG 2- Autumn ( 2 weeks unassessed) - Summer (2 weeks unassessed,5 weeks assessed) UG 3- Autumn ( serial days) - Spring ( 8 weeks)
