Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences EMIC project experience

EMIC European Marketing & Innovation Centers

How can the EMIC Knowledge Triangle improve graduate employability?

The EMIC Knowledge Triangle consists of: Research Education Innovation

The main objective of the EMIC project is to achieve transformation towards a knowledge society where: Education has intrinsic value, it’s not just a tool Education is questioning, not answering Education is comprehension, not competencies Education is active creation, not passive application Interdisciplinary barriers are overcome Self aware individuals know what they want to learn Enterprises can find necessary employees Unemployment rate among graduates diminishes

This project is a collaboration among 7 European countries and 9 educational institutions.

EMIC consists of 5 sections: Observatory Community of Practice E-Learning Local MIC Support Student Support

EMIC project is both virtual and physical

Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences has taken the lead in e- learning to facilitate the development of one common video course on marketing & innovation

Each educational institution chooses their most experienced marketing and innovation teachers to feature in the e-learning videos.

Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences has chosen its teachers from our new international study module Autumn semester entitled ‘’Through Famous Gateways to Unexploded Getaways’’ Spring semester entitled ‘’ From Globalization to Regionalization’’

EMIC project is innovative because: This is a new experience where Europe's best marketing and innovation teachers work together to create one common international e-learning course. So far, marketing and innovation intervention has been neglected. This is a new way to look at the market.

We use the latest audio visual tools as key enablers to deliver this innovative way of learning: Communities of practice E-courses Virtual platform for communication EMIC blog Social networks Video-conferencing

Funding: Erasmus Multilateral projects – Life Long Learning programme – EU grant

The EMIC Knowledge triangle can be transferred to any other country or region. Knowledge Triangle Research Observatory Competencies Survey Innovation practices Survey PDMA survey Education eLearning Marketing & Innovation Course Innovation Student support Job Market Dream in entrepreneurship
