Increase of know-how level of the TSS experts Improvement of cooperation and co-ordination between the TurkStat and other administrative units (main providers of statistics) Better availability of and faster access to statistical information Production of statistical data which is comparable with EU norms in certain areas Strengthening of institutional capacity Improvement of quality of information and indicators in statistical areas

PRIME MINISTRY REPUBLIC OF TURKEY TURKISH STATISTICAL INSTITUTE Foreign Relations Department Projects Group TurkStat implementation of MBP grants Phare 2005 Grant Programme; Contract signature in December Implementation period: January December 2008 Objective: to provide assistance in improving the production, collection and dissemination of statistical data As of September 2008; 210 experts participated in 145 Eurostat meetings; 24 training courses; 3 study visits; 10 traineeship programmes 14 data collection projects have been implemented Euro has been spent from the Grant budget of 1,1M€.

As of September 2008; 4 experts participated in 3 Eurostat meetings; 1 expert is continuing traineeship programme. 8 data collection projects are to be implemented ,73 Euro has been spent from the Grant budget until now.
