The 5E Model The 5E instructional model is based on a constructivists’ approach to learning. In this model, students bring what they know to the learning environment while the teacher facilitates their discoveries. It is organized to allow students to become interested in exploring ideas and developing their own attitudes and skills. The model lends itself to a more inquiry based style whereby students are actively involved in making their experiences meaningful to real life.
