The main idea to have this display is to have students understand the flow of the school program and recognize what knowledge that they gain, what concept and skills that they learned, and what attitudes and profiles they displayed in a whole year. It can be used as the basic of their reflection on goals achievement and development. This will determine their next step in the following years. Back

When classroom has good class management system, it will be a great place for students to learn. These class tools arrange most of the activities done in the classroom, including grouping system (in creative ways, based on subject), events calendar, announcement board, communication book information board, group points. Back

This learning center is used to display students’ news sharing that we usually do every morning, as an energizer activity before the lesson start. This activity really gives lot of benefit to 5B students. It broaden students’ knowledge about issue around the world and to make them become more critical about those issues. It will become more beneficial when students shared article which is related to the unit that we learn. Back

In PYP program, key concepts is one element which is really important for students. The understanding of 8 key concepts will help students to acquire knowledge in PYP successfully. This picture show one o the corner in 5B, displaying some sample of questions from each concept to help students to design their inquiry learning which mostly based on the strength of their questioning strategies. Back

As the school program requires students to be long life learning people, we build a corner to help students understand about the unit of inquiry, its learning strategies and also a place for them to document the learning evidence. This corner were built collaboratively between teachers and students to make sense of ownership to classroom and their own study. Back

A display board is usually used to put student works and some information about certain subjects. In 5B, we have a great learning tool called Interactive board. It is a display board with some additional function in order to build more engaging classroom community. Some independent activities adapted from the recent unit and subjects are displayed on the wall where students have a open access to it and are able to do the activities during their free time or after they finish the work earlier. This board really develops student’s curiosity and independence towards their own learning. The activities are so creative and able to enrich students’ knowledge and engage students more into the recent unit of inquiry.  Back

What is the use of knowledge and skills that students have learnt without an application? This class corner give them a chance to record and reflect on what action that they have done to apply their knowledge and action. They write the action regularly based on the attitudes that they might demonstrate during learing activities or outside the classroom context. I believe when we recognizing students’ action, it will encourage them to do action more. Back

Learner profiles as the main aim of IB program which is implemented in the school should be addressed anytime within the school community. And classroom is the first place at school after home that should empower students to achieve all the learner profiles. Since profiles are quiet abstract for students, we tried to apply them by using this reward system. The profiles definition were agreed by each member. By doing this we hope that students can develop the learner profiles. Back

When we try to implement inquiry based learning method, we really depend on the questioning that happen during the learning process. We have this question and answer pocket to organize students’ questions and to create more inquiry atmosphere within the classroom. When it runs well, the teaching learning process in an inquiry context will also run effectively. Back

Every shared workplace should have an agreed rules in order to make everything run well. A classroom as our work space also need clear rules agreed by everyone, in order to manage the classroom activities. At the beginning of school year, students and teachers discussed on what rules and routines that we have to agree to do in our daily activities. We displayed the result and it is proven that it helps students to manage themselves well. Back
