II. Defeat in Russia A.1812: 600,000 of Napoleon’s soldiers invade Russia B.Russians moved eastward burning crops and villages as they went 1.The “scorched earth” policy left the French hungry and cold as the winter came mile retreat from Moscow destroyed the French army Napoleon was defeated by Russia, Austria, Prussia, and Britain. 4. Louis XVIII is put on France’s throne.

III. Downfall of Napoleon A.Exiled to Elba and escaped B.Battle at Waterloo 1. Napoleon and his army were crushed 2. Forced to exile to St Helena and never seen again.
