The Report Card Characters Nora Rose Rowley. In Grade 5. Very smart. One older sister named Ann. Older brother named Ben. Stephen Curtis. In Grade 5. Not as smart as Nora. Nora’s best friend. Helps Nora with her plans. Mrs. Byrne. School librarian. Friend of Nora. Understands her and is nice to her. Mrs. Hackney. School Principal. Sometimes Nora’s friend, but mostly wants no school problems.

The Report Card Setting Current times (have the internet) City in Connecticut, USA Elementary School, Grade 5 Nora’s house.

The Report Card Conflict/Solution Conflict – Nora wants to keep secret that she is a kid genius. But, she is tried of the testing and scoring at the school, and so are the other kids and teachers. She wants to do something about that. Solution – Figures out a plan with Stephen. Plan is to have all the kids get zeros on their next tests, so the school will have to change things.

The Report Card Plot Nora is a kid genius. No one knows though. She makes a plan to get all Ds on her report card to cheer up her best friend Stephen, because he feels dumb because he did not do well on a big State test, the CMT. Nora’s plan gets figured out, so everyone knows she is a genius. Nora and Stephen make up a new plan to have the school slow down all the testing. The plan is to have all kids fail their next test on purpose so the school will have to change things. The kids do this and fail the whole 5th Grade except for four kids fails the next test. The School finds out Nora and Stephen were behind this, and there is a big meeting with their parents and school big people and they decide have Nora and Stephen have a talk with the whole 5th Grade.
