Presentation transcript:

Every student you have, just like any citizen in the United States, has a right to privacy  An ethical issue that arises when an individual’s right to privacy conflicts with the rights of any agency, whether governmental or commercial, to closely monitor and record an individual's personal information or online activities Areas to watch out for:  Class photo or information that you put on a website  Certain websites students may visit  Student grades that can be access without password How to avoid  Have students and parents sign a code of ethics

 Copying software to share with other or installing software on multiple machines when only one copy was purchased  Whether it is a Teacher or Student  How to avoid  Do not give out or accept any unauthorized CD software  Do not allow students to burn any software or CD’s

 Ethical issue that arises whenever Internet content is regulated that it restricts the constitutionally guaranteed right to free speech  Content on Internet is not regulated  Is the right to express a viewpoint digitally as protected by the Constitution as the right to free speech is?  School is responsible for controlling access areas on the Internet  Teacher is responsible to guarantee “digital safety”
