IMPORTANT ITEMS Arrive at BMS Wednesday morning at 6:30 a.m. Depart Brawley Middle at 7:00 a.m. We will stop at a rest area mid-morning. If you might want something from the vending machine, bring coins or $1 bills. CELL PHONES: Students need to exchange cell phone numbers with their chaperone. Students need to conserve their phone battery during the day. There are outlets on the bus for each student – bring your charger in your orange bag. The bus also has wifi. What to pack? We have provided you with a “suggested” packing list. Please talk with your child about additional items needed. Students are allowed ONE suitcase of any size in addition to the drawstring bag.

IMPORTANT ITEMS (2) MEDICATION: Prescription medications MUST be given to your child’s chaperone the morning of departure. If you are going as a parent, we would like for you to administer your child’s medication. GLOW STICKS: We visit the Lincoln Memorial at night. We have purchased glow sticks so students on the same bus have the same color glow sticks for this evening. Glow sticks will help students keep track of their group. Please consider donating $1 for the glow sticks. If we get more money donated than we paid, we will purchase other items we need to keep on the buses, such as band-aids, ibuprofen, tums, etc. T-SHIRTS: The cost of the group photo t-shirts is $10 for each chaperone and each student. We accept cash and checks. Please make checks payable to BMS. T-shirts will be worn THURSDAY.

IMPORTANT ITEMS (3) DINNER CRUISE : dress code is semi-formal. Ladies – plan to wear a dress or a skirt and blouse. Gentlemen should wear long pants, shirt and tie or bowtie. SPENDING MONEY: Students should bring a minimal amount of money if they will want to purchase a souvenir. All meals are paid for. We also like to tip our bus drivers. Please plan on having $1 extra for this. SNACKS : Students should bring snacks to keep in their room and for the bus trip. NO ENERGY DRINKS OR SOFT DRINKS! Water is suggested. Students may bring ipods, nintendo DS games & other handheld items. No large gaming consoles or laptops are allowed.

IMPORTANT ITEMS (4) BREAKFAST: You will eat breakfast at the hotel each morning. It will be an “American Breakfast Buffet”. Cereal, fruit, some hot dishes, bread, etc. LUNCH: You will either be given lunch money ($10), a meal voucher for $10 or a boxed lunch. SUGGESTION: Two shower in the morning and two at night. You may not all have time to shower in the morning. DRESS CODE? Iredell-Statesville Schools Dress Code. YES, you may wear hoodies. No inappropriate advertisements on clothing (tobacco, alcohol). Shorts must be fingertip length.

IMPORTANT ITEMS (5) PARTNER RULE : Students must NOT travel alone! You must choose a person that you always stay with. In the orange drawstring bag you will find a lanyard, your DC t-shirt and two luggage tags. The large, orange tag is for your luggage. The small, grey tag is for your drawstring bag. Be aware you will NOT have access to luggage that is stored under the bus. Everything you need for the bus ride until hotel check-in must go in the drawstring bag. Students are required to wear the orange bag and lanyard each day. Students will need to fill out the lunch order form – PINK SHEET – front and back, and return it to their chaperone. Our planned return time is 6:00 p.m. Saturday.
