Moving and Copying Text, Chapter 82 A Few Terms, Please!! Clipboard: A temporary storage area. Cut: Used to temporarily remove highlighted text from the screen and place it in the clipboard. Paste: Inserting the text that is contained on the clipboard into a document. Move: A term sometimes used to describe cutting text from one location, and pasting it to another location.

Moving and Copying Text, Chapter 83 Rules to Help You Maintain Proper Spacing To preserve the correct spacing between paragraphs: –Include the blank line below the paragraph you’re moving as part of the selection. –When you paste, click to the left of the first line of text following the place where your paragraph will go and not on the blank line above it.

Move the insertion point to the place in the document where you want to insert the file. Choose Insert/File and double-click the filename.
