Sabah Al Ahmed Center for Giftedness and Creativity was established in May 2010 as an initiative from His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmed Al Sabah, in an effort to support and nurture gifted and talented individuals. The Center also embodied commitment to encourage gifted and talented youth, highlighting their achievements, promoting cultural innovations and advancements in society.

The First GCC Robotics Competition

The competition will be run in the 6 countries of the GCC. The competition consists of 6 rounds. Participants must go through all 6 rounds consecutively. The score will be awarded separately for each round.

A two hour time window will be allocated for all participants to build, program and test their robots before officially starting the competition. Hybrid Programmed and remote controlled robots should be used to complete the tasks. The winners from each state will be representing their countries in the final.

The competition is open to undergraduate students and Young Professionals who are between the ages of 18 to 35!

1.For the remote-controlled stage, the robot must be able to: a)Move a handle vertically upwards. b)Push a button. c)Carry and move light objects (max. 100g). d)Drive through different types of terrains. 2.For the programmed stage, the robot must be able to: a)Follow a line. b)Move around obstacles. c)Go through a dark tunnel with no line in it. d)Push a button.

Technical Rounds Description

Round 1 Kuwait (Remote-controlled robot) Start your journey from Kuwait tower. Description: bypass obstacles to reach Kuwait tower. Round 2 KSA (Remote-controlled robot) Refresh your journey with Zamzam water. Description: Push down the handle to release Zamzam water (Note: pushing the handle 3 times) Round 3 Qatar (Remote-controlled robot) Be the first to score in the 2022 world cup. Description: get the ball in the goal.

Round 4 Bahrain (Remote-controlled robot) Explore the Land of Pearls. Description: Grab the hanging pearls and place them in the right holes Round 5 UAE (Programmed Robot) Explore the UAE magnificent palm island. Description: Self-oriented (line following) robot. Round 6 Oman (Programmed Robot) Take your robot for a tour through the valleys of Oman. Description: Self-oriented robot going through a maze wall.
