Presentation transcript:

For my product I shadowed Mrs. Sharon Braswell and volunteered at my mothers job. Nathan Lee

 I chose my topic because I wanted to be pharmacist and after getting my degree I wanted to get my MBA.  I am also very interested in technology and this would be very beneficial to me for later on in life.

 Main street, Kansas pharmacist only made 68,000 dollars in  Chain average was just over 110, 000 dollars.  Rite Aid in Clayton has an inventory worth $1,287,420 dollars as of 12/12/12

 Script Pro 200 fills 150 prescriptions an hour and dispenses 56 different medications.  Pharmacists can only fill about 50 per hour.  RACS is an integrated system that allows pharmacists to check for drug interactions.  Every computer has a fingerprint scanner that you have to scan before filling or delivering a prescription.

 Techs save the pharmacists time, by doing simple tasks and refilling bottles.  Machines save time but techs have to keep it maintained and be knowledgeable in doing this.  This year, pharmacists and techs are having to go back to school to learn to administer flu shots. Make more money.  Wellness Ambassador.

 Technology drastically affects the pharmaceutical field and more specifically; is a huge factor for small town pharmacies.

 HIPAA doesn’t allow a lot of information to be available to the public.  Numbers don’t describe interactions with people.  Having to revise my paper.

 My mentor was very helpful  Learned a lot about computers and how they work.  Behind the scenes view of things.

 My research paper was about technology being used in pharmacies and I decided to shadow a pharmacist and her staff several times to see technology in action and see it affecting the workers and the customers.  I also volunteered at my mothers job because she works in a lab that handles medicine and technology is the biggest factor in her workplace.

 Rite Aid and Mrs. Sharon Braswell  Wake Internal Medicine

 I learned that I am good at meeting new people and am good under pressure. I procrastinate and have a serious problem with it. I do like to research new things and like to volunteer.

 The Graduation was actually a good thing and taught me:  Time management  How to work with new people  Produce a product  This will help me in college and throughout life and my future in business.

Thank you for your time! Do you have any questions?
