Mr. Peterson, Science

The title is Exploring and Classifying Life. When you read the title, stop a second and think about what you think the chapter is going to be about.

You will learn to apply the scientific method to solve problems and how to measure.

All living things, including you, have many of the same traits.

Living Things is the main topic of section 2. All of these things are good “prereading” strategies BEFORE you read a section.

There are 3 reading checks in section 1. The reading checks are great AFTER you have read the section to check for understanding.

The books web page is in7.msscience.com. The username is GR7IN05 and the password is D2trat7z. You can also use MrPetersonOnline.com.

The heading is Living Things Use Energy. It is helpful to know how the information is outlined. Units Chapters Sections Headings

Social Studies is the subject integrated on page 17. But what is integration? It is making connections. Integration is the creation of links between subjects.

The new vocabulary words are organism, cell and homeostasis.

Do not put seeds into your mouth.

I can find a summary and self checks at the end of each section.

A study guide and chapter review can be found at the end of each chapter(page 31 – 33).

These standards were found on page 16. These are great summary of what you will be expected to know.

The section names are Science Skill Handbook, Extra Try at Home Labs, Technology Skill Handbook, Math Skill Handbook and Reference Handbooks. Also you can call ASK-ROSE if you need more help with science or math.
