The power of literature is invaluable. There is a girl, who power of imagination can help with the hardships of war. The book of thief present the reality of war through the eyes of a girl. Together with her friend don’t understand why do ostentatiously different books are burnt. Liesel finds her place in the world.

For the girl escape from unfriendly world are books. Liesel is clever person and quickly learned to read. Her new family isn’t rich. They can’t buy her books. The girl finds another way. She borrows books from mayor, without his knowledge. Books are all her life.

Review of the movie The movie is nothing special. Narrator is death. The movie isn’t dead earnest. It’s many comedy scenes. Their roles brilliantly played : Geoffrey Rush, nice to watch Emily Watson. The title role played Sophie Nélisse. The girl is natural, lovely, and her big eyes reveal all the curiosity. The choice of actress was very accurate. The book thief has not the best end. Altrough it is worth to watch the film.
