Class parties Students’ birthday parties are not held at school. Parents may bring or send cupcakes or cake to school to share with classmates during lunch or recess. If you choose to do this, please contact me about it at least 24 hours in advance, so I can make sure we can attend. You are responsible for bringing all necessary items (knife, forks, plates, cups, candles, matches, etc.) If parents want to distribute party invitations anywhere on campus, ALL students in a class (or all boys or all girls) must be invited.

Ways parents can support their child Set up a study area: a quiet, well-lit area, shielded from interruption No social phone calls, computer games or television should be nearby as it can divert their attention from the task at hand Schedule study time. Children respond well to structure.

Field trips and Parent Volenteers Parent helpers may be needed to help in or out of the classroom Fieldtrips

Other Ways to Help Out Help us to set up a great fieldtrip to support our learning Share your expertise with us Come and read your favorite picture book to us

Ways to contact me 1. *Please allow me 24 hours to respond 2. Call the ES Office and leave a message 3. Have your child bring a note to school in homework notebook or student planner

It is against school policy for parents, nannies, or drivers to come into the classrooms or walk in the hallways in the morning or during the day. If you need anything, please go to the office, and they can send us the message. Please Note

Math: Thoroughly prepare students for middle school. Reading: Meet students where they are at and improve their use of strategies like inferring, making connections, questioning, etc. Writing: Teach structures according to the PYP standards using the 6+1 Traits.
