College Prep Chemistry Lesson #18 LESSON GOALS: Turn in 5 sources (was extended to today—YAY!) Review %-difference calculation Go over Measurements PPT mathematics section Complete metric conversions sheet 1/5

%-difference Note: %-difference is also know as %-deviation or %-error. You may recall the following relationship: %Diff = (Measured – Expected) · 100 Expected 2/5

Measurements PPT Notes We are now going to go over the work you completed (and hopefully turned in for a class participation grade) for the online PowerPoint notes on measuring. We are only going over the mathematics- based questions. The rest of the activity was based on important vocabulary and written concepts. 3/5

Metric Conversions Complete the handout (side 1 is a simple lab activity and side 2 is a unit conversion sheet) Please note that the conversion practice sheet only uses units of length measurement, but the same principles are applied for mass, volume, &tc. – For instance, the process for converting meters into millimeters is exactly the SAME for converting Liters into milliliters. 4/5

Looking Ahead We will finish up our preparation for Thursday’s chapter test. 5/5
