General Features of English for Palestine

*What type of syllabus is English for Palestine ? It is a cyclic syllabus that enables teachers and learners to study the same language item more than once.

* There are many features in E4P syllabus : 1-Follows the Ministry of Education syllabus. 2- Provides systematic skills development and grammar practice. 3- Has built-in recycling and frequent revision to build confidence. 4- Includes motivating and rewarding activities suitable for each grade throughout the school system. 5- Prepares schools leavers for further study or the world of work.

What do the first few pages in the TB present ? *Course components *Methodology *Classroom management

Methodology: 1-Developing listening and speaking skills: *Fluency activities. *Accuracy activities. *Oral interaction in the classroom. 2- Developing reading skills: *Word cards. *Independent learning. 3- Developing writing skills

CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT: 1- Making periods enjoyable and effective: *Activate existing knowledge. * Use visual material effectively. * Monitor and feed back * Keep children motivated. 2- Revising. 3- Testing.

*What are the main components of English for Palestine ? 1-Student book : Presents the new language and provides classrooms activities for practice and recycling, then provides additional practice material for class and home use. 2- Teacher's book : Offers detailed, step-by-step lesson notes as well as model tests from Grade 4 onwards for testing after revision units. 3- Work book : Provides additional practice material for class and home use.

4- Posters & Flashcards : Present key vocabulary to the class, and enable extra practice and activities as a group. 5- Audio cassette & CDs : Presents all the listening activities, including prompts for speaking practice.

The three stages don't have the same number and type of components, every stage has its own ones The 3 stages share the same components of : Student book, Teacher book, Audio cassette & CDs However, grade 4 has all the three and " The posters and Flashcards " and doesn't have " Workbook ". In other hand, grade 8 has the five components : SB, WB, TB, Audio CDs, Posters & Flashcards. Grade 12 includes 4 components : SB, WB, TB, Audio CDs but it does not have Posters & Flashcards.

How many objectives are stated for each grade? Give example. The objectives vary from level to level, and don’t have a specific number. For example: Lower stage : The objectives of Grade 4 are: to develop a core vocabulary of high-frequency English words which can be built on at later levels.
