ERP definition Facilitates enterprise-wide integrated information system covering all functional areas like:  Manufacturing,  Sales and distribution,  Payables,  Receivables,  Inventory,  Accounts,  Human resources,  Purchases etc.

Characteristic of ERP A high-end solution featuring integration of information technology and business application. Seeks to streamline and integrate operational processes and information flows in the organization to integrate the resources. The whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Each implementation is unique and is designed to correspond to the implementer's various business processes.

Characteristic of ERP Software solution that addresses the Enterprise needs, taking a process view of the overall organization to meet the goals, by tightly integrating all functions and under a common software platform
