About us... Licences DofE Approved Activity Provider AALA Instructors Qualified and Experienced First Aid Enhanced Disclosures from DBS (formerly CRB) DofE Accredited Assessors Insurance Fully Insured – £5 million liability

Aim of the DofE Expedition Section To inspire young people to develop initiative and a sense of adventure and discovery, by planning, training for and completing an adventurous journey as part of a team. Benefits sharing responsibility, teamwork, leadership, self-reliance, overcome challenges, decision-making, manage risk, learn new skills.

Your own physical effort Unaccompanied and self-sufficient. In a team of between 4 and 7 people for walking expeditions. Training and practice expeditions. Camp Properly equipped Cook and eat a substantial meal each day Aim and presentation DofE Expedition - 20 conditions

Minimum 7 hours of activity each day Further to walk ~18km 3 days Tougher terrain Step up to Silver

20 Training Saturday 11 th June at School Assessed qualifying expedition & debrief Friday 22 nd – Sunday 24 th July Presentation Back at school Practice expedition Friday 1 st – Sunday 3 rd July The Expedition Process Preparation and Planning In your own time

Your expedition programme is a progression Attendance at each section is compulsory. Attendance isn’t enough. You need to successfully complete each section.

Cost £350pp + enrolment fee Deposit - £50 due by 11 th December Balance payment - £300 due by 15 th April Payments are non-refundable Insurance is recommended.

Waterproofs Both a waterproof jacket AND trousers are essential They MUST be waterproof! Taped seams – to stop water leaking through Jackets MUST have a hood

Rucksacks Correct size 60 – 65 litres COMFORTABLE

Mobile Phones Yes – for your safety! Fully charged but switched off – only for emergencies In suitable waterproof bag – don’t rely on jacket pockets!

Where? Peak District

Blisters, Sore Feet, Knackered, Hungry, Thirsty, Soaking – Achievement! Blisters, Exhausted, Emotional, Aching, Cold, Wet, Lost, Out of your Comfort Zone. Best thing ever!
