Welcome to the no fear zone APUSH Mrs. Burgess 1 st hour, 2 nd, 3 rd, 5th hour, 6 th hour

Attendance and nameplate cards Will three students please give out the name tags to everyone in the class? You know you want to volunteer. I’ll be taking attendance. Any students without a name tag? Front Cover: First and last name (write fairly large with MARKERS) Back Cover: 3 specific goals you have for this class. Inside: Tell me an interesting and specific fact about yourself that might distinguish (hobby, unique experience, etc. Feel free to decorate front cover with any art work that expresses who you are.

Attendance Be sure to help me pronounce your name correctly, it may take me a little practice on some, and let me know if you have a nickname you prefer to use. Give me a little time to get that one down also.

Registering for this class in tii Must be completed by this Thursday, July 23rd (Day 1 classes) or Friday, July 24 (Day 2 classes. Do it early so we can deal with any issues before due date. Once you register, be sure to check your assignment calendar for all due dates for uploading work to tii. The majority of assignments in this class done at home will be uploaded. How to avoid problems of plagiarism, and how to use tii as your helper to avoid not using your own voice and knowledge enough on your work.

The boring but necessary syllabus The syllabus is on the website. Read it by Thursday/Friday of this week so we can answer any questions you have. Questions on the syllabus assignment?? Note the information on active reading quizzes, notes, and the notebook requirement (see handout). The major thing to understand is that you can be very successful in this class, and my goal is to help you navigate to success. Let me know today if there is any issue preventing you from being able to access information on line.
